E assim, Pedro, Susana, Edmundo e a caçula Lúcia saíram de sua casa direto para a casa de um de seus antigos tios,Digory Kirke, Pedro e Susana os mais velhos nunca tinham ouvido falar nesse tio, mais agora fugindo da guerra estavam indo direto para a casa de veraneio dele, e enquanto estavam no trem indo em direção a casa de Kirke, Susana e Pedro se olhavam.
-nosso tio deve morar no fim do mundo - disse Edmundo.
-ele mora num lugar lindo e espaçoso, e nós iremos poder brincar ao ar livre - disse Susana.
-sei - disse Edmundo.
